An existing four-story mill building, the former Mechanical Fabric Mill, is to be converted to a mixed-use, entrepreneurial center.
The first floor will house office space, a restaurant/bar, and commercial kitchens. The top three floors will be converted to residential apartments. A three-story communicating space will extend from the first floor to the third, with office/studio spaces surrounding, and will connect these floors vertically through particular views.
This project is slated for completion in July 2016.
This former Gas Company headquarters from 1924 is seeing new life as luxury apartments. On the corner of Weybosset and Orange Street and part of the ProvidenceG complex, this building will house additional retail and office space as well as the G-pub restaurant underground. The residential spaces are designed for maximum efficiency with cove-lighting featured in most great rooms.
Finishes include walnut cabinets, granite countertops and bamboo flooring. Two units delicately preserve the Gas Company’s former President’s Office and Board room.
Completed 2014-2015
Originally constructed in 1860 on the corner of Weybosset and Dorrance In Providence, RI, this 12ft x 40ft building has had its brownstone trim and storefronts restored. On the ground level, the Garde de le Mer Restaurant fills the new addition. Above the restaurant are three floors with residential apartments overlooking downtown.
Part of the Providence G Complex, the exterior brick was repointed, brownstone stripped of paint and repaired, and the historic windows were intensively restored. The storefront was designed and fabricated to echo its historic past, while serving the modern restaurant use inside.
